Welcome to TORCH 2012

The 2nd Annual Operations Research Challenge for high school students

The Operations Research Challenge (TORCH) is a one-day contest where teams of 3-4 high school students will have to solve 5 to 10 problems related to different application areas of operations research. Operations research is a field of study that uses techniques from engineering, computer science and mathematics to understand and solve complex decision-making problems. This year's contest will include questions related to the Olympics as well as optimization of decisions in the game of Starcraft, among others.

If you are a high school student, join us at the University of Toronto for TORCH 2012.
